Yule marble shear strength through "bedding Plane"
There was an interesting discussion recently about the varieties of green
stone available for carving. I am also interested in blue colored stones
suitable for sculpture does anyone have any experience with such? I have
worked with maca ba [probably not spelled right] it runs from sky blue to
gray blue to white, is sometimes called a granite but is not, is very hard
but can shear at the changes in color and will polish to a high gloss. I
have also seen a brilliant blue onyx, a baby blue granite with large
crystals from Terra de Fuego and a cobalt blue granite from Brazil that is
supposed to be fiendishly hard. Anybody have any experience with these or
other blue stones?
I enjoy the conversations about stone working
