carving ethics
Hi Norman,
Flex shaft grinders are ideal for shaping and surface finishing, especially
in hard-to-reach areas, and for using with water-cooled tips, but they don't
produce the fine detail that can be achieved with sharp chisel and hammer.
Your choice of carving tools will determine the end result of your sculpture
piece. The flex grinder can be used together with traditional tools. I think
the most important thing to focus on is getting the waste material removed
as efficiently as possible so you can concentrate on finishing and
detailing.
Simon
