Dear Helen

Cyanoacrylate is not a good adhesive for filling. It needs to be applied to
surfaces that are in close proximity to each other. There is an aerosol
activator available that improves adhesion but even that will not get it to
fill the gaps between crumbly bits of stone. You would certainly have
difficulty in carving it afterwards as it would start to crumble again. Also
as a safety precaution you should not use it without having some acetone
(nail varnish remover) handy in case you get some on your flesh.

Your best bet would be to leave the stone as it is. If you try to repair it,
it will always look as though it has been repaired and the repair will
become a dominant feature.
