natural unfinished stone bases- how to finish and protect them
I use a solution of 10% acid to 90% water. I increase the acid only if
needed. It is safest to both the environment and the stone to use as little
acid as possible. You can always repeat the rinse if you need to, but I
think any solution with a much higher percentage of acid may etch the stone
causing unsightly "runs" in the stone.
