Indiana Limestone
I live 20 miles N of Bloomington Indian a, and 40 miles from Bedford sorses
of all the indiana limestone any none can use. I've been carving full time
since 1974, and have made a good living' carving both limestone marble
alabaster Colorado from Ft Collins, anf Virginia soapstone. I was formally a
speech pathologist for 25 years, 7 years college and ww2 Navy, but have
loved doing stone with my 150 piece sculpture garden both garden size and
monumental works, and still work most every day. My last work was an 8 ft
Monoan Goddess, with exposed boobs "FUN TO DO", and add to my garden.
If anyone wants to pick up a truckload of limestone, free plan on driving
your truck to indiana and if you stop by my place, i'll show you where and
help you load. These blocks are scrap ,cut off blocks from large block
orders and 90% good workable stock. Other sourses are old limestone
buildings that are being torn down, most wrecking companies will give you
anything you can carry off. You might contact wrecking companies in your
area requesting notices when they are demolishing limestone buildings same
for marble buildings I got some good Georgia ETOWAH pink marble and Georgia
CHEROKEE marble that way.
I built a great workshop with steel framework with an extension that i
can drive my truck under and lift with electric 2 ton hoist lift blocks
from truck to either take inside building or work on outside Am happy to
talk with people about my diamonmd saws , air hammers air sanders and
grinders or what have you, c r schiefer
