Tenn. Black Marble
George,
Thanks for your story about your training. I too am a scrounger of
stone, and am always on the lookout for discarded gems.
The website for the Tennessee Marble Co. is:
http://www.tnmarble.com/
They list their address as being Friendsville, TN. Being from
Chattanooga originally, you'd think I would know where that is, but I
don't. They carry several TN marbles, and, since they are affiliated
with Gawet of Vermont, they also carry all the Danbys, and others I've
never heard of. There are color swatches, at their site, of TN
"Fleuri," "Champion Pink," "Cedar," "Light Rose," and "Dark Rose."
There is also a swatch of "Cherokee," but it sure looks like white with
dark veins to me. They have a black called "Champlain Black," which I
assume is from Vermont (as in Lake Champlain). Do you know anything
about this stone?
Bill
