sculptural preferences
Norman, I did, I did. But the computer ate my essay.
I think that that a single person, with the the proper tools, can shape an
Olmec head-sized obdurate stone in to more or less, the shape of her fancy
is the sort of intoxicant that could send women off to look for undiscovered
lands. But of course they would have to be slightly mad.
The seven foot head of Constantine, god and ruler of the Roman empire, could
be in our back yard, should we but will it so. But the stone will slow you
down and cure you of these dreams. Bronze and steel inflate and tower at
the slightest rustling of the winds of power and desire. But stone will
slow you down.
Money makes thing bigger, and Norman, really, wouldn't you like one of your
sculptures on the Mall. It would have to be big, wouldn't it?
Bill
