wandering off down an alleyway - gloves
Deb,
I also use cutoff, fingerless gloves, but I tucked a piece of carpet padding
into the palm of them. I find this helps cut down the vibration when I use
an air hammer, but often times on cold days the metal of the air hammer or
the cold air passing through it chills my hands causing sore joints. To
help this I rest the air hammer on a block of limestone that rests on top of
my propane heater. It radiates the heat slowly into the metal. I've found
that this makes my hands comfortable as well.
What I like about the padding, I can remove it if I am using a hand chisel
when it feels uncomfortable and reinsert it when I need. Hope this helps.
Scott
