Marble resistance to Weather
Hi all
Very simply, what is best choice of marble for outdoor figurative work? If
it is Italian, how do I get a good piece, which I fear very much would have
to be ordered sight unseen.. I live in the USA. Do any of the domestic
marbles really compare well. I am looking for the best combination of
carvability and weather resistance.
I've heard quite a few different things about acid rain and marble. Are
some marble really truly better at this than others, and why? Perhaps Dr.
Tim Palmer is reading. Does hardness or fineness of grain constitute better
weather resistance?
Thanks, Bill
