Trigger finger
Hi Bill,
Both of my parents had this hand trouble, each in both hands. They put it
down to plain hard work. I had a touch of it from carrying slabs of stone,
so I wore cycling gloves for a year until it went away. I always thought it
was called 'Dupuytren's Contracture'
An interesting site about trigger-finger:
http://www.pncl.co.uk/~belcher/trigger.htm?x=43&y=83
I found out about bird's eyes (loss of fingertip skin) the hard way too! I
carry cheap kitchen gloves with me for when I have to handle wet abrasive
stone, or mortar and grout. I turn them inside out regularly so the gloves
and my skin can dry.
Have you ever tried scrubbing your hands with butter and sugar when they get
dried out from stone slurry or lime? Instant relief!
Simon
