Hi Simon,
Where do you get the "Superior" can you tell me a bit more about it? size,
weight, length, chisel size, style of blow etc.
Re: Wm Ashcroft's, been around for ages in Melbourne mainly supplying the
monumental masons, very efficient, and very old style of Co, as you have
probably found out, Bernice still writes invoices by hand, will not let a
computer near the place and relies on the fax and phone.
Very small warehouse/factory in Oakleigh, Melbourne.
No evidence of anyone else other than Bernice running things.
The chisels are handmade by someone in Dandenong, you can order anything you
like and they will make it for you, I tend to drop in and see what's lying
around that catches my fancy.
Never a huge stock just a draw with a few chisels in it.
Down stairs I get the impression that there's a store and dispatch section,
shipping everything from what I'll call grave hardware to all the Tenax
stuff,
Hope this is what you wanted.
Regards Clive
