Hammer hands
Simon,
you truly made me laugh. Your list should be memorized by all beginners! I
can add one to your list. Using a pitching hammer that is almost, but not
quite in line with the handle.
Long, long ago, I went to work at a shop where the previous cutter had moved
on. I started pitching and found myself all too often grazing my index
finger,causing,,,,discomfort. After a month or so , ( I'm a slow learner ) I
found all the hammers were 3 or 4 degrees out of line with the handle. Well,
I thought maybe the previous man did it on purpose. A few years later I met
him. He turned out to be a great person, who had permanent bumps and knots
on his left hand!
I would love to share some of our winter cold, but no. I won't start
complaining when winter is almost over, and I can enjoy 2 months of mud.
Yaaaay!!
Take care,
George Graham
