Subject: Superior brand air bottle

Hi Clive,

I'll make some enquiries about the Superior brand air bottle tomorrow when
I'm back at work. When I had all our air bottles serviced last year, the air
tool specialist was familiar with the brand - I think they are now made in
Asia, the original brand was made in Scotland like the Bon Accord.

My Superior 1" air bottle is very similar to the Bon Accord, only with a
tapering muzzle instead of a bell end. It weighs 3kg and appears to have a
stroke about 10mm long. It is sweet to use- I have forced it into a heavy
corrugated rubber radiator hose holder to lessen the vibration. It fits the
1/2" x 50mm chisel shank.

I'm intrigued about Wm Ashcroft & Co. I have had very good service from
Bernice, and plan to visit the premises in June to thank her as well as
introduce myself. I bought 3 Bon Accord size 'E' air bottles from her at the
end of last year with money from a successful grant application.

I have the Charles Nodrum Gallery on my list of places to visit (if I can
successfully beg the money from TAFE) during the DesignBuild Expo 20-23 June
in Melbourne. I would like to see your works 'in the flesh'- any chance of
meeting you as well?

Simon
