Is onyx a good medium for carving?
Greetings all,
I recently stumbled upon a landscaping stoneyard close to my home that
carries various onyx boulders. The stone varies from white to a light honey
color. My question: How does onyx fare as a carving material? How does it
compare to granite, to marble, or to alabaster? Are there any tricks to
carving it that one should be aware of when considering starting a project?
I would appreciate hearing the group's expertise on the matter.
Thanks to all,
Tim Bunton
