Not exactly. As you say, it's a helpful tool to your browser and more
traffic can be created to a site that way. But also, in the long run it can
help boost your position on a search engine such as google. More links
increase PR (page rank) and if they are relevant links it will be better
than, say a link from an insurance company. It is being called
"neighbourhood linking".

To recap, if you link to stone industry sites, such as toolmakers,
sculptors, other quarries (such as yourself) or other site that may be in
your "neighbourhood" (such as www.DMOZ.org directories if you aren't already
listed there) or any site that you feel is beneficial to your site or your
viewers (I link to a site that supplies free fonts - not in my
"neighbourhood" but beneficial to my site and customers to pick a style of
lettering for their signs).
