slate characteristics
Can anyone tell me what characteristics to look for or to avoid when
choosing slate for lettercarving? How much of a concern is direction
of grain, surface smoothness, etc.? Is some slate more forgiving?
Are quartzite tiles suitable for lettercarving - a local supplier has some
but all I can find is that the tiles come from India.
Thank you in advance for your input.
