cultural relevance?
Quoted text begins.RE: But right now I'm struggling with the price of a stupid piece of
slate, the highest price so far for a 3/4" x 30" x 30" slab is $310 + tax,
you'd think it was a freaking semiprecious stone!
End of quote.
I think that maybe I should start a stone sales business! I live in the
Canadian Rockies, and we have a lot of it (stone). This area has only
been populated for the last hundred years, so its potential has not been
exploited. We have sandstone, limestone, and recently, my husband brought
me home a beautiful piece of red brown slate, that he picked up while he was
out for a quad ride! The size is about 2 ft. x 1.5 ft.! I feel blessed! I
think that this is also a good argument for using local materials if you
have them. Elle
