Hi Deb,
The Thermalite trench block looks ideal at 440 mm x 215 mm x 300 mm... but
they probably would like you to buy a pallet of blocks. Ask if they have
re-sellers that supply single blocks.
I've had success joining blocks to make a bigger mass using a liquid polymer
(cement-tolerant Bondcrete or similar) mixed with white cement and water.
The material is easy to repair using the liquid polymer alone.
