stone transport: Haul or own
Thanks for your responses, Elle, John, Simon, George.
I still want that truck, of course. Not having a flatbed one ton or F-450,
or a fork lift or a crane or a GANTRY(!), I could really use a start in the
stone handling area. But your nearly unanimous point is taken. I should
probably keep my nose to the stone and not fanatise too much about ideal
facilities, though I really should decide on a company name so I'll be ready
when it comes time to paint the cab doors...
Sincere. According to novelist Dan Brown it comes from the spanish sin
cera: without wax. As in no filler in potholes cracks and sundry mistakes,
before there was AKEMI filler. Believe it or don't.
I am going through my saved mail and have enjoyed once again Simon's posting
for the Crane accidents site, George's descriptions of pneumatic sufacers in
the monument shop, Don's great descriptions of marble and Dr. Tim Brown
treatise on diagenisis. Thanks to everyone for the company and the shared
experience!
Bill
