Electric Tools
Hi Geri. While I do use a variety of electric tools both for
rough in work and some finish sanding, it is the pneumatic
hammer and chisel that does the bulk of the actual carving. Not
sure as to what type of carving you do, and what kind of power
tools would be appropriate. However, I will say that if you are
going to make any purchases such as circular saws, grinders etc,
do not be lured into low price bargans. Look for tools with
sealed bearings as the stone dust is very abrasive when it gets
inside the tool, and cheaper tools just do not last. A B+D
skill saw might last me a month of regular usage while a heavy
duty (13amp) Makita might last 2 -3 years.
If you give use a clue as to what you actually intend to do with
the power tools. then I'm sure some suggestions will be forth
coming.
