Electric Tools
William,
Can you speculate on why the fragment hit you? Not in metaphysical
terms, but in terms like why the blade broke (material being cut, old
blade?), what may have been different that time so that you didn't
notice how the tool "react[ed] under stress", or why the guard was
ineffective (e.g, tool being used in odd position?, etc.
I once had a radial arm saw almost take my arm off while I was working
framing a house and it scared the living crap out of me. The problem
was the greater traction of a dado vs a regular blade and not having
the wood clamped down to control this.
