Yes Simeon that does seem like it would be OK. I don't
know if Bill's stone is reasonably square, but especially
if it is wouldn't that be a good situation to knock
something together out of two by fours or sixes, a sort of
slotted rack that he could place on top of his stone,
weight down to secure, and drill through, at least to get
the holes started right. After several inches I don't
think there would be much wander, so he could remove the
jig. Might require a slighty longer bit.
