holding air hammers
Its Indiana limestone but it seems to be exceedingly dry. I think the
conditions in the building dry it out a lot. I have wet the stone at
times, but when I come back a few days later for the next session its
all super dry again. I may try wetting and packing it in a plastic bag.
My first piece was what I called my "wounded octopus" -all tangled
tentacles and distress. It was much too intricate for a beginner and I
spent a lot of effort in getting into tight places. Bad design on my
part. The current piece is a cluster of oak leaves and an acorn, but
with more access -I do learn albeit slowly!
