CSIRO Guide to the Specification of Dimension Stone
Do not know if this is acurrate or not, but just returned from a
week in Houston, Tx, and in the hotel's sight seeing brochure,
the claim is that the San Jaciento monument is the tallest free
standing masonry structure in the world. Makes sense to me,
since when they built the Texas capital building, they made sure
it was a few feet taller than the US capital building, so I'm
sure these Texans would want their monument to be a few feet
taller than that in washington.
