Granodiorite balls
Lathes. I know a stone fabricator in Pennsylvania who built a lathe which
can turn limestone balls and urns up to about two or two and a half feet in
diameter.
After finishing a sphere on the lathe it only takes a few minutes to chisel
off the knob and clean it up.
I have a lot of polished marble spheres, 2" to 5" diameter, which I bought
from a fellow who turns them in Italy; if anyone needs any, let me know.
