Subject:
finishing chlorite
Dear Listers, Our local sculpture store has a bunch of interesting stone
and I've bought pieces of wonderstone, anhydrite and chlorite and was
wondering how you finish these stones. Normally, I sand my pieces
(mostly small) using up to 1000 grit sandpaper and then, depending on
the stone, seal them with either carnauba wax, linseed oil, trewax
outdoor marble sealer, or trewax wood floor sealer (acrylic-based). Any
suggestions for the best ways to finish these stones. Doesn't seem like
sanding wonderstone down to 1000 grit will be worthwhile, maybe just to
220. Any info will be appreciated. TIA, g2
