Diamond Hand Pads
Dear all,
How fine a grit do you think it's sensible to go when polishing limestone?
I'm working with Portland and Ancaster and should get some Clipsham soon. My
gut feeling is that going beyond about 800 would be daft - but I'm a rank
amateur and would value opinions from others :-)
The quotes I've had from http://www.hamaton.co.uk are as follows - I thought
I'd go for red yellow white and use ordinary grit deal with the first
stages.
Colour Grade Bond Grit (90 x 55) (100 x 55)
GREEN Very Coarse Nickel 60 £12.40 £14.90
BLACK Coarse Nickel 120 £10.90 £13.20
RED Medium Nickel 200 £8.20 £10.60
YELLOW Fine Nickel 400 £7.80 £9.60
WHITE Extra Fine Resin 800 £5.40 £6.80
BLUE Super Fine Resin 1800 £5.40 £6.80
ORANGE Micro Fine Resin 12000 £5.40 £6.80 (for Granite Only)
Cheers
Deb
