Diamond Hand Pads
Bruce - many thanks for the grit guide for Ancaster and Hopton and for the
info about J Flex - I shall seek it out. I had tried emery cloth before -
but it wasn't robust enough. Following on from the comments of Clive, John
VanC and Elaine I went out last night and had a go at a piece of Portland
that's waiting for carving. It reminded me of the problem I had before: its
not the limestone as such - that cuts easily: its the shell that cuts at a
different rate and ends up standing proud. So the lesson learned is choose
the right stone for the job - obvious really!
Right, I'm off to rummage around in the ironmongers and building supplies
shops for cloth backed Al oxide abrasives.
Cheers
Deb
p.s. Bruce thanks for the links to Harbro as well - the web site is great
now - I'd not looked for a while.
