Carving with torches
Hi Simon!
Thanks for putting up the Randall-Page website. I love his work. I get
the strangest feeling before his work. As if I was looking into myself. The
are generous, open forms and they welcome my trespassing mind. Memories of
things that happened in his life but haven't happened in my life, and they
strike me as so familiar it is like being confronted with a twin who
executed works very similar to the sort of thing I might have thought up,
but never brought into existence. (Of course he is a smarter and harder
working twin.) It is a manifestation of my own potential. "Hey, you!
That's my work!" But he makes it so easy. I can sit on the sofa will he
works away. He has realized my dream, why try?
Sorry about that, anyway I have been busy at the mis-recollecting: Kusser,
not Kugel is where I meant to say I saw a "fabricator" take credit for one
of his works, "Womb Tomb". Great name. He is silly on top of being grand.
What a guy that Bill Knight/Randall-Page is. If you know him you know me.
