window frames
Good morning All,
I have an opportunity to do a different ( for me, a carver ) sort of work,
and find that I am need of advice from some who may be more into
architectural stone work. A client has purchased a sandstone window frame,
from a demolished brick building somewhere in the UK. Its 3 bays, about 8
ft wide by 10 ft high, with latticework arches on top. It now is a
palletfull of about 30 pieces, and she wants it re-erected as a freestanding
portal in her garden here in Washington state. Has anyone on the list done
such a thing? Do you have any words of wisdom, other than forget it?
I would like to help the lady out, she wants a little piece of her homeland
to admire, but I don't want to put it up just to have it fall down again.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks,
Tracy Powell
