Carving with torches
Hi Norman...I was lent a book a while back. The main character sculpted a
mystical world inside a huge granite boulder. One had to enter the the
sculpture by a tunnel, naked ....the interior began to create on its
own....deer drinking by a stream, fire and all the elements were held within
this embro. Ah...I read too much! No wonder that I feel sculpture is a
hopeless exertion some times! (Some one else made the comment of being a
lazy twin....that is me!)
Hmmm, this makes me wonder how we approach stone carving....do some of us
think of it in terms of measurements, a job to be done or like me, do you
start endowing the stone is with myth, spirit and ancestory...
