Hello Annie.
There is a magazine in the U.K. called A.N.or Artists Newsletter. It is very
good for listings and classified adverts, it is published monthly,
check........

to find where you can buy a copy.
This months edition carries two adverts for courses
Stone Carving at Bawdsey Manor, tel.01277 651874

also
Stone Carving Courses in Somerset
contact Linda at 01278 424269 or 07904 470048
I have heard of somewhere in Bath and also a Zimbabwe run course near
Brighton, but I have no more info on these.
Also it may be worth checking Yorkshire Sculpture Park, I think they used to
run summer wood and stone carving courses.
Now I'm not too sure if this still goes on but I heard tell that there was a
Stonecarvefest at a pub, the Square and Compass, at Worth Maltravers on
Purbeck. Purbeck is an area with quite a few small one or two men quarries
of excellent limestone.I believe it runs on the same beds as Portland, it's
a
little tougher than Portland. I found it very responsive.
Telephone the Square And Compas on 01929 439 229 to see if anything still
goes on there.
Best of Luck
Jon
