Advice on a brief trip to Tuscany
In September my significant other and I are hoping to take a 2 week
trip to Italy. Neither of us has been there, but we lean towards
Tuscany. She because its, well, Tuscany, I because Florence and
Pietrasanta are there. Given that 2 weeks is a ridiculously short time
anyway, and that I can only spend a small amount of that looking at
things stone carving, what would you folks recommend I see and do in
and around Pietrasanta? I would like to see where and how marble is
actually won from the ground and to see craftsmen working it. I would
also like to look over some tools. I realize that asking what to do in
Italy in a few days is almost foolish and insulting, but this year that
is all the time I will have there. By nature both of us prefer to see a
few things well, rather than many things poorly. Thanks in advance for
your guidance.
