2 granite carving sequences
Bill,
I agree with Simone that the marks are point marks, and not the double
secret, solar powered 1 foot wide tooth chisel!
I've always thought that a hammer and point is the most efficient and
versatile set of tools in stone carving.
There is all kinds and sizes of air hammers from all over the world. I hope
you find one that you like.
I've been looking at all the different kinds of diamond grinding wheels that
screw onto my grinder. When I've got to smooth off some granite , I get out
of the bushing as soon as possible and go to a course diamond wheel. Years
ago, before I knew any better, I'd go from a 4 point bush chisel to 9 and
then 16. Then I'd clean up with flat chisels. Now I go from a 4 point
straight to a diamond wheel. I'd rather wear out a diamond wheel then my
hands!
You can get a concave diamond wheel which has great potential. All these
grinder heads take a tremendous amount of use.
