End of quote.
As I mentioned a few days ago, Joseph Conrad.
Yesterday, while sitting outside reading while waiting for my &^%$#!
battery-powered-piece-of-crap power drill to recharge, I discovered
that the scene in Apocalypse Now where the insane character played by
Marlon Brando says "The Horror. The Horror" amidst all the bodies, was
taken from the mad Kurtz in Conrad's Heart of Darkness. The only
connection to carving is the easel I was making for lettering in slate.
