algae on limestone
Quoted text begins.some way to prevent it from going all green with algae.
End of quote.
Hi Norman,
Robin here.......a few years ago I made a limestone headstone for my
grandbaby that passed away. For a while I was cleaning the green off each
year with a light bleach water solution but then just went with the
Thompsons water seal stuff, like CR used. So far so good. It does change
the color a bit.......darkens the stone so it looks like it does when wet.
I prefer it that way as the limestone I used is a wonderful warm color when
wet and the color put in the lettering is a dark brown. Best yet.......
this headstone is the only hand made one in the cemetary in almost 60 yrs.
Robin
