web
a well-designed website displaying excellent work is still
ineffective if no-one visits it. linkage definitely helps. you
might also consider becoming associated with a well-visited web site
having to do with stone, stonework and stone art.
I refer here to www.stonefoundation.org, the public interface of the
Stone Foundation since the year 2000. search engines, google, yahoo,
msn and others find it with increasing frequency. recently visits
average between 5,000 and 6,000 per month.
about 1,500 of these go to the members' directories. there are two
of these, the stonemason members directory, and the associate members
directory. associate members are architects, contractors and artists.
the directories have been a feature at the site for a little less
than a year but evidently they are producing contacts, jobs and sales
for those listed. one artist, Riondo Ribeiro (www.riondo.com ) told
me that he has gotten commissions from contacts through the directory
(two commissions at last report).
anyway have a look. I should say the plans are to upgrade the the
web site, in particular the directories, adding a feature that would
select for category (architect, artist, contractor, etc.) as well as
for state and country. membership/subscription forms (members also
receive STONEXUS magazine) are available at the site if anyone is
interested.
