something more pedestrian
Bill,
First you have to ask yourself, why am I carving this stone? Am I carving
it, or is it carving me? I always ask myself these enlightening questions
before I proceed to beat the crap out of the offending stone in front of me!
Seriously, I've worked with Mt. Airy, and its tougher than it looks. All the
stone that is sticking above the surface just pops right off, but once you
start digging in, you have to fight for any progress. It just does not come
apart easily. Keep your tools sharp, use diamond blade as much as possible,
and use your dust mask. Its really dusty stuff. Finally, be happy, you might
have found a piece of Salisbury Pink instead!
George
