The Original Question
Hi all,

How very true, that's why we find it so hard to put it into words, but keep
trying so we can communicate our experience with others.
I have often found that a grunt, a sigh or a wave of the arm or a look to
the heavens helps to pass on the impression that we are seriously impressed
by something. At the very top end it can often be goose bumps or hairs
rising, but how often does that happen? Maybe just under that level is
"wow"!
Even though I talk a lot I know in my bones that sculpture is a non verbal
language, I know that I'm attracted to something but as soon as that
happens I also know that I start going through a sort of check list
analysing the decisions that the artist has made, or more often the
decisions that I thought may have at their disposal, this happens in a flash
and either results in me confirming my first instinct or the opposite.
Rarely somethings are so good that my subconscious checklist is completely
superfluous.
I do believe is that it is absolutely essential to make value judgements
