Hi Edie. Yes an engine hoist can be used with straps for
lifting stone. Limits as to how high you can lift. and also you
need clear space under your table to allow the front wheels of
the hoist to move under the suurface you wish to place the stone
on. As also mentioned the wheels are rather small, and will not
roll on anything other than a smooth, clean surface. Most
rental yards will have one on hand. I suggest renting one for a
day to see if it will serve your needs.
