engine hoist info please
Quoted text begins.hello all - someone suggested i look into getting an "engine hoist",
aka "cherrypicker", to move stone around my studio.
End of quote.
Hi
I use an engine hoist to move my stone. I recently used it to unload 4-
220lb slabs of soapstone out of my 1\2 ton truck bed. It can handle 2 tons
and is adjustable for reach, and the support legs fold up,so I can push it
into the corner of my garage easily. I use old lengths of seatbelts for my
rigging;they are strong and they dont slip,as long as they are not torn or
frayed. They dont marr the stone. I found it in a sale at a Liquidation World
store for $129.99.(Canadian) A very good bargain as it has many uses ,can't
do with out it. Beware though, they can be dangerous,as with any tool used
for lifting, best to have 2 buddies for help moving anything close to 600
lbs!
cheers
Andy
