engine hoist info please
Hi all,
The quality of the wheels is always the main problem with engine lifters,
what tends to happen with the very cheap wheels is that once they are under
stress from a heavy load they tend to want to do whatever they like as
opposed to what you want them to do, I replaced mine with top quality ones.
It doesn't matter how good the wheels are they will always stop when they
hit the smallest stone chip on a concrete floor. When you load them up to
the max they can be very hard to push, I've actually put a boat winch on
mine so all I have to do is turn the handle and along it goes. The biggest
problem of all: standard load rated lifting straps/slings come in a variety
of standard lengths, when you attach them to your sculpture and lift you can
often only just get the sculpture off the bench or whatever because most of
the available lift is taken up by the excess length of the sling. With
lighter loads, I would never do this with real heavy ones, I use adjustable
tie down straps instead of slings, naughty I know but they do work!!!! The
last thing...because the front forks always stick out further than the jib
you must make sure that they can go under your work bench vehicle etc, so
that you can actually lift something.!!!
Best wishes Clive
