Small Detail Work - Technique Question
Walter is right about the butcher masons with their tuck wheels - truly ugly
stuff and not limited to the Chicago region. The Trow and Holden cape
chisel occurred to me also as a possible solution to the corner question. I
had some custom-made units fabricated at T&H so that the flat part of the
shaft was extended to twelve inches. These are invaluable for removing
bedding mortar prior to extraction of stone sculpture and decorative
elements for restoration, and would probably be useful for tight work in
corners as well.
Good Luck,
chaz
