Sharpening Bushers
Bill,
I may be asking the obvious, but I'll go ahead anyway. Have you gotten one
of the thin , tapered green sharpening wheels that are made for carbide bush
chisels? They are just marginally better then trying to work off the edge of
a regular wheel. They have to be reshaped to keep a very sharp edge, but you
can improve the points somewhat.
I pretty much agree with Simone's attitude on getting the most out of your
carbide by wearing it out on the stone rather than grinding away a lot on
the wheel. The thin wheels I've used come from Granite City Tool Co. An old
Diamond saw segment is great for reshaping a rounded wheel. I'm sure you can
buy what you need from GCT.
Hope this helps
George Graham
