Southside Virginia Soapstone
I have seen some beautiful carvings done in a pink soapstone that I was told
came from somewhere near John H. Kerr Reservoir (Buggs Island Lake) in
Mecklenburg Co., VA (I live in neighboring Halifax Co.). Have been trying,
locally, to find the location of this soapstone with no results. Does anyone
have any knowledge of the location of this Mecklenburg Co., Virginia
soapstone?
