staines on marble
Hello Craig
The marble is a white type from Carrara ,Italy. We used a silicon produced
by Dow Corning, DC 794, white, neutral (No acidic, no basic). The silicon
was applied after each tile was hanged, the silicon was used only at the
top, not at the bottom holes of the tile. The climat is tempered, it's in
Reggio Emiliain in Italy (-10°C, +40°C) humidity often max . The oil
composing the silicon is a titanuim (4+) 2- methylpropan -2-olate conc. The
stains are located in an area around the holes +2 or 3cm. The stains look
like a "wet marble colour" but with a big difference: it doesn't dry out.
