Quoted text begins.Hi, I have been using Butcher's Wax to polish my stone and am getting

said to let it dry 5 min. then buff.

Elizabeth,

I had the same problem when I first started using Butcher's wax. It
must be used sparingly, and in several thin coats. For the first coat,
I put on a little at a time on small areas, rub it in in circles, let it
sit for a few seconds, then immediately wipe off the excess, and then
move to the next adjacent area. Leave it on just long enough, and put
it on just thick enough, to penetrate the stone, then wipe it off before
it can dry into streaks. After you've covered the stone completely, let
it sit for awhile to completely dry. Then go back and repeat the
process for a second coat, leaving the wax on just a little longer on
each small area, and buffing instead of wiping off. I use a loose
cotton buff on an electric drill on each little area, as it can conform
to grooves and deep curves and such. If you get a streak, just go back
over the area with a very small amount of wax on your t-shirt (I use old
cotton socks because they fit over the hand like a puppet), and rebuff.

It took me a while to figure out the streaking thing, but it boils down
to using several very thin coats, as opposed to one thick one, and
wiping off excess before it can dry.

Hope this helps.
