wet look

gives the stone a wet look? Thanks to any with advice.

Hi Lisa,
So far the only thing I have found to give the wet look to alabaster is tung
oil. I have used it for a few years now an have found no adverse effects.
I paint it on with a small brush for little areas and apply with a soft
cloth to larger areas. Be careful not to let it dry with drips on it. Wipe
all excess off quickly, you can use fine sandpaper after it dries and coats
can be repeated. Very fine steel wool or sand paper can remove small drips
if you happen to get some. The finish is usually a soft matte not shiney
like varnish and the colors are vivid. Always try a spot on scrap stone or
on the bottom of a finished piece to be sure it's what you want.
Good luck,
Robin
