Problems with my flies
Quoted text begins. Is there a non-staining poultice I can use to draw the stain out?
End of quote.
Hi Pete, Fred Hueston has some good advice here:
http://www.natural-stone.com/stainremoval.html
The whiting he mentions is powdered limestone. I got some from my local
produce agency. They sell it as Agricultural Lime, $5 for 20kg.
I keep a 20 litre container full of Lux soap and water handy for quick clean
jobs. It's about $5 a packet from the supermarket, makes up to 75 litres of
gentle cleaning agent. What doesn't come off with pure soap can then be
worked on with other methods.
As I mentioned previously, typing paper and kitty litter mixed to a slurry
with water makes a great poultice mixed with cleaning agents like oxalic
acid (not for polished marble) or bleaches such as hydrogen peroxide. Try a
test area first and take care with chemicals.
Simon
