Photos with graduated backdrops
Dear Randy
If you can take the photo's on site that is better than using backdrops.
There is nothing wrong with taking the photo's in your studio as long as you
watch out for accidentals. One way is to open up the lens which will make
everything else be out of focus. Be aware that artificial light will change
the colour. In particular incandescent lamps make the photo's red and strip
light makes them green. You can use filters to compensate but if the light
is mixed with daylight the results are likely to be poor.
You can use a flat coloured backdrop if you really want to and if you add a
strong light to the bottom part you will achieve what you are asking for.
Personally I would prefer not to.
